Our pearls

Nature reveals the most beautiful and graceful things and lets us offer this exquisite jewellery.

The sheen of the pearls will let your face glow.

In days past, divers collected oysters from the bottom of the sea and only very rarely did they contain pearls. Due to their scarcity,

pearls used to be reserved for queens and the most important dignitaries.

During this time the creation of pearls was explained by a legend that shells would rise to the surface of the sea during hail storms to collect hailstones.

These hailstones, so the legend, were transformed by the shell into pearls.

Reality is astonishingly close to this legend. Pearls develop when a foreign object, for example a grain of sand or a parasite, enter the oyster. If the foreign

object cannot be expelled, the oyster starts to create protective layers of mother of pearl around it. After several years, this process results in a pearl.

Today, foreign objects are implanted in oysters. After this delicate grafting process, that is carried out by highly paid specialists, the pearl oyster is put back

into the lagoon for the pearl to grow. This process takes several years. The quality and temperature of the water have a significant influence on the growth

and color of the pearl. Environmental factors like typhoons pose a big risk to pearl cultivation and can ruin years of work.

Due to large scale pearl cultivation, it is now easy to create an ever growing amount of pearls. Depending on the type of pearl,

a single pearl oyster can grow up to ten pearls. Still, all pearls have to grow in the sea.

This shows how little influence we human beings still have on this process.

Unlike artificial pearls, there can never be two completely identical cultured pearls. Each pearl has a unique combination of shape, color,

luster and size.

To meet the high quality standards, thousands of pearls have to be reviewed in order to create a single necklace.

We are fascinated by this unique character of pearls and would like to share our passion with you.
